Our classes are all held on the outskirts of York at premises that also house our retail area. You will need your own transport. There is ample free on site parking. A taxi will cost in the region of £10 - 15 from the centre of York.

If you are attending a full day class you will need to bring your own lunch with you. There is a fridge available to use. Tea and coffee is provided, along with morning and/or afternoon biscuits and cakes.

Fran begins with teaching you to be brave and let the machine write or create a shape for you . We learn about stabilising with stich and tear and practise with it and to use water soluble fabric and be amazed at the results .

The idea of these sessions is to give you the abiltiy to create the lovely landscape shown..

So book in once and then come again as often as you like .

Lynn is with us every Friday all day . We offer two afternoons per month as a class . These relaxed friendly groups are a mixture of experienced and beginners in quilting - this is a really good class for new quilters to attend as the students pick up techniques and ideas from each other with Lynn on hand to assist. Bring along a project that you would like to do or have already started and Lynn will guide you along giving great tips and ideas. Lynn is a very patient teacher, providing guidance and help each session. Bring along your own project (or we will set you off on one) and we will work on it together at these informal social classes - a good way to get to meet other crafters. Suitable for absolute beginners and the more advanced too.

Lynn is with us every Friday all day . We can offer full days working with her so to begin with we have found three dates on which to offer Stack and Whack or kaleidoscope quilt design . This is a great technique teaching pin point accurate cutting and piecing . Lynn is a very patient teacher, Bring along your own project (or we will set you off on one) and we will work on it together at these informal social classes - a good way to get to meet other crafters. Suitable for absolute beginners and the more advanced too.

Allow yourself an hour and a half one to one to help get going and then you will be working on a project with your own materials. Very welcome to come for all or part of the day between 10am-4pm. The idea is to encourage all of us who have forgotten our machines or those who are just beginning to really get to know what your machine can do for you!

Bring your manual . Let us know what you are worried about when using your machine and we will help you solve the problem!

We understand that some projects need quite a bit of room to be able to sew - laying out a quilt in a box room is not easy at the best of times! Hence the introduction of our 'Sit and Sew Social' sessions that run a couple of times a month. Come along with your own project, take advantage of the space that we have in our classroom and get on with completing it. These sessions are great way to meet like minded people, pick up tips and ideas, and to dedicate some 'me time' to yourself. Come along any time between 10.30 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. Stay all day or just for a few hours - it really is that simple. We will provide you with tea and coffee but you will need to bring your own lunch.

Wendy guides and encourages this group of stitchers catering for a wide range of tastes, although the title would suggest otherwise. . In the past the ladies have completed all shapes of cushions, box lids, samplers and pictures. Students bring their own projects and Wendy helps everyone to work towards completing them. Alternatively Wendy will start you off with a pretty sampler of canvaswork stitches. She is an extremely helpful and practical needlewoman with a wealth of experience and a great eye.
